Renewal of the passenger information system.
Irish Rail
Service
Goal
The renewal of the passenger information system for the 17 trains (68 cars) that make up the EMU 8500 / 8510 / 8520 series from the Japanese manufacturer Tokyu Car. These are electric units known as DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit), which cover the main commuter lines in Dublin, running along the coast from Malahide and Howth in the north to Greystones and Wicklow in the south.
Result
The project, which lasted approximately one and a half years, has allowed Irish Rail to update its most representative fleet, equipping the cars with new capabilities that allow it to personalize the warnings and messages on the routes, in a fully automated way, preparing it for future improvements.
